Introduction to Cyanotype
Mon 28 Sept 2026 / 11-1 / £40
Jim Matthew Camera Collection, 8 West Street, St Monans / KY10 2BJ
Learn the basics of this historical photographic process and experiment with making blue and white prints on paper. You will be introduced to the process and given instruction on mixing chemicals, coating paper and exposing prints.
No experience necessary and no camera needed. All materials will be provided, but you might want to bring some items to make prints with. e.g. plants, feathers, presses seaweed, lace or other items that can be squashed under glass (I will bring a selection of things too).
N.B. If you would like to make a print from a negative, send me 2 photos by email and I will make them monochrome and invert them to then print out as negatives onto acetate *(if you are able to do this yourself, please do..no bigger than 7x5inches)*
If sending to me I need them by 21 Sept at latest. Send to Kit Martin: hello@kitmartinphoto.co.uk
You will be working outdoors for some of the time. Exposure times will depend on the strength of the sun on the day.
